TODAY: WALT SIMONSON 'THOR' OMNIBUS!!!!

Rejoice! Today marks the release of WALT SIMONSONS' Epic & Legendary THOR RUN in one big ole honkin' OMNIBUS EDITION!!

It collects Thor #337-355, #357-369, #371-382; Balder the Brave #1-4 in 1192 Mighty Asgardian pages!!!

And it sports new coloring by Steve Oliff's Olyoptics!
Check em out:
Pretty! While I still prefer the lovely ORIGINAL coloring (and paper!), this new coloring by Olyoptics looks nice... although I would personally prefer less saturation. But they are a big improvement from the previous recoloring, seen in the Walt Simonson Trade Paperback editions:

LEFT SIDE = Original
RIGHT SIDE = Previous re-coloring

Why are two issues missing?

Jim said...

Those 2 issues were fill-in issues by a different writer & artist, and (if memory serves) were not part of the overall story Walt Simonson was telling.

Hey Jim, thanks for the tip of the hat. Love the blog!

Thor #355 was a stand-alone, fill-in by Bob Layton (while Walt was on vacation) starring Hercules. And Thor #370 was also a stand-alone fill-in by Jim "Priest" Owsley and the late great John Buscema that pitted Thor against Loki in the Wild West.
